Even As The Mind Is Failing

This irrevocable perishing
A world where the veil lifts briefly, then descends,
Of human frailty, as the years mature
Of memories lost, and withering
Of beautiful souls, rich with lifes’ experience,
Stolen, in each day,
In irreversible perishing,
And days made brighter, as the present moment
Is all there really Is
And still, his heart is aflame,
Shining brightly through those now creased, but glimmering eyes,
That echo of a time once young
And body and mind bright,
A boy with no father, an only child of absent mother
When adventures were to be lived in each moment
And purpose found in spiritual endeavours
That changed the course trajectory,
Of family, Earth and cosmos
Years pass,
Who can compare the passage of time?
And yet still his heart glows with gratitude,
With compassion, and unfaltering love,
Even as the mind is failing
